Choose your starting point
Pick a single spice for a focused note, or a blend when you want several flavors together. Smoked paprika adds a smoky direction; za’atar brings herbs and sesame.
Add with intention
Use small additions and follow your recipe. Powdered seasonings mix into sauces and dressings; flakes and seeds can add texture at the finish. Check whether your blend already contains salt before adding more.
Give the dish room
Taste the finished dish before reaching for another seasoning. You may prefer to adjust its acidity, richness or texture rather than adding more spice.
